Since day one, Prismatic Shapes have emerged as a true landmark of Mexican post-punk, earning their presence in pop culture by being part of the exciting soundtrack for show La Casa de las Flores. Their acclaimed single “Empty Process” reached 23rd in Spotify Charts for four consecutive weeks, consolidating their impact in the country’s music scene.
For 2020 they’re back with Deadbeat, an album that according to specialized media Filter México is in their best of 2000 to 2020 in Mexico list.
For 2021 they released a 10″ EP in vinyl format for which they collaborated with several artists to create remixes for their new version of Gloomy Afternoon, among which we can find Twin Tribes and Hocico’s Erk Aicrag.
For 2022, their presence became even more notorious by participating in the iconic Festival Marvin, where they dazzled with an electrifying live session in House of Vans and an exclusive DJ set for the Vive Latino hospitality. Additionally, they headlined the highly anticipated Rock al Río Negro in Colombia, attracting an enthusiastic crowd.
2023 was a year of collaboration and growth, sharing stages with legends such as Das Ich, Sisters of Mercy, El Último Vecino, VVV Trippin You and Nueve Desconocidos from Spain. To finalize an impressive year, they performed in the first stage dedicated to goth music at Hell and Heaven, rubbing shoulders with giants of the genre such as Ministry, Ville Valo, 69 Eyes and Lacrimosa.
But this is just the beginning! For 2024, Prismatic Shapes returns with renewed strength and three previews of their second LP titled El Teatro del Absurdo. This new project will take them all over Latin America with a tour starting in Costa Rica, sharing dates in Mexico with 69 Eyes and Twin Tribes, and extending to Chile and Peru.
